Strategic planning process

The primary goal of this course is for students to understand the strategic planning process and how a document is created. A strategic plan is a “living document” that serves as the pulse of the institution and provides a map for the future and a guide for budgetary decisions. For this assignment, students will research an institution or organization in higher education, DIFFERENT from the one in which they currently work, if applicable, and provide an analysis of the strategic plan based on what has been learned so far in the course. The paper MUST have the following elements, which would best be addressed via headings. • Introduction • Brief overview of the institution to provide context for the paper. • Evaluation of key elements of the strategic plan: o Research and Environmental Assessment o Mission, Vision, and Values o Goals and Objectives • Analysis • Recommendations • Summary
