This is an independent report, which is similar to but not the same as a traditional dissertation. Approximately 12 references needed. The assignment requires you to evaluate a technology trend in the context of a given industry and Management function. The topic for the report constitutes an opportunity for independent learning. The aim I chose is Assessing the potential impact of big data on retail industry using concepts from strategic management. The objectives I chose is evaluate the influence of big data in online retailing using SWOT analysis (or you can choose Porter’s five force model & competitive advantage) and give recommendation. You can use Amazon, Walmart, Alibaba, Jingdong (JDcom), etc as examples. Companies from both NA and China will be awesome because I am from China.
