Brainstorming – EVALUATING AND WEIGHTING THE ALTERNATIVES

July 29, 2024/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Admin

APPLY SOUND REASONING The purpose of Brainstorming Exercise is to Evaluate and Make the Decision by comparing the alternatives based on the objectives by creating two decision matrices. Before deciding, rate the alternatives on the elements or objectives. Use the Decision Matrix to help in this part of the evaluation process. Does the choice make sense? Improve- are their gaps in the quality of the decision? Do you have areas that you are uncertain of or feel lacked enough information? Repeat the process after filling in the gaps to see if the choice is 100% what you want from the decision. How to Start: Read and review this week’s course readings and example found in Week 6 course content area AND How to set up Project 1: Expectations (You can find this down below). Review the two decision matrices found in Example using MDQ: Which House Do We Purchase?, located in Week 3 (i will attach pics of these ). Then begin the process for this week by creating both decision matrices for your objectives and alternatives. Ask yourself these questions and reflect on the answers as you prepare your formal response. Post both of the decision matrices in the text box and explain them in separate paragraphs.. NEVER POST ATTACHMENTS. All of your numbers and rankings in BOTH of the decision matrices have to be explained in separate discussions with support by citing the course material. The tables are not self-explanatory in terms of how you came up with each of the numbers. Explain your detailed logic in how you selected the numbers for each of the boxes in the table and justify why you selected the numbers by using support in the form of in-text citations (course material and research). Begin by Asking yourself the Following Questions: Use the Decision Matrix (both of them as provided in the examples located in the course content area) Ask are my analysis and selection among the alternatives consistent with my information and values? Can I explain this choice to others and feel good? Why is this the best alternative? What would it take to switch to another alternative, that may be better? Should I drop and alternatives for ethical reasons? Have I used probabilities to describe uncertainty? Would someone I trust or respect agree with the logic applied in the process? Discuss these in terms of the MDQ model using in-text citations and in applying the case study. What are the possible biases?
