 Select a department in your local city or county on which to focus the paper (e.g., parks & recreation, fire, police, DPSS, water, etc.). Using the information from the books, lectures, and videos, create a well-written essay addressing the following sections: Introduction – Introduce the city/county and department and provide context for the paper. Dichotomy – Give an example of Wilson’s Dichotomy as it relates to the department you selected. Include information on the theory and a specific application of that theory. Federalism – Give an example of federalism as it relates to the department you selected. Include information on the theory and a specific application of that theory. Bureaucracy – Give an example of Weber’s bureaucracy as it relates to the department you selected. Include information on the theory and a specific application of that theory. Efficiency – Give an example of Taylor’s model of efficiency along with how Mary Parker Follett believed efficiency was increased, as it relates to the department you selected. Include information on the theory and a specific application of that theory. POSDCoRB – Give an example of POSDCoRB as it relates to the department you selected. Include information on the theory and a specific application of that theory. Leadership – What type of leadership do you recommend for the department? Be specific about the theories and example of how they would (or would not) apply. Decision Making – Describe a type of decision that your department would need to make, and apply a specific decision-making theory to the process. E-Government – What is the future of e-government for your selected department? What are your innovative ideas? Conclusion – Provide examples of how strong ethics and Christian values could improve the operations of the department. Each section should contain one or more theories covered in class and be cited using in-text citations and references at the end of the paper. Each section should be fully developed and well-written. Treat each section as a stand-alone essay, not merely a response to a question. The paper must be written in APA format.
