The Assignment: For this assignment, you must do all of the following: 1) Explain, in fewer than 300 words, what puffery/associative advertising is. 2) Find and provide 5 examples of associative advertising (either embed the advertisement itself in your assignment or provide a link to it). 3) Explain Galbraith’s ethical concerns about certain forms of advertising. 4) Explain Goldman’s ethical concerns about certain forms of advertising. 5) Explain Waide’s ethical concerns about certain forms of advertising. 6) Answer the following questions (using as many words as you deem necessary): which of these ethical concerns should be taken seriously? Do any of them successfully show that some common forms of advertising are wrong? Why or why not? Each of these 6 steps should be clearly demarcated and separated with numbered headings (for example, your answer to #1 should have a heading like “3) Galbraith’s concern”). ote: All student essays will be submitted to Turnitin. You will lose points only if you do not provide examples, or if the examples are not associative advertising. 5 points for including an accurate explanation of Galbraith’s concerns that is supported by references to the text.
