Develop a proposal for a digitally enabled business model change in your company • Find a relevant business area. • Apply the business model canvas method and the e3-value method to describe the existing business model and its ecosystem. • How could the business model and the overall value ecosystem be deconstructed? Which technology such as AI, DLT, Platform Ecosystems might be used for that? • Apply a business model pattern to derive a possible business model change. • Evaluate the proposed business model by analyzing the risks and benefits of this change as well as its impacts your business value ecosystem • Describe the necessary organizational and technical changes to get there • A document offered to either your sponsor in the company or the board of directors to make a decision about transformations of a business model. • The written report contains a management summary and explains the motivation for choosing this business area • The report contains a critical analysis of the “as is“ situation. • The document contains o Suggestions for the transformed business model improvement, o Describes the “to be” situation and o Thoughts about the benefits, feasibility and the roadmap to get there • The document also contains an analysis of the possibilities of using new technologies and of deconstructing the underlying value eco system Grading criteria Clarity, briefness and persuasiveness of the management summary 10 % Ambition and complexity of the problem 25% Depth and structure of the report Use of relevant literature 25% Data collection and systematic modelling and analysis of the ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ situation 15% Proposed changes, impact analysis (benefits / disadvantages / risks) of changes and recommendations 15% The process: the way the report is produced, the smoothness and independence 10% Criteria of a good report •Situation –Complication –Resolution -Recommendation •Provide examples to analyses the current business area and document it. •Draw conclusions from data, don’t assume, speculate or provide your opinion.
