You wrote my essay last time and it was so amazing I wanted to see what you can do for this one! Background: The instructions for this essay is going to be a little different since its more of a research paper. My instructor told us to do a paper on an issue we see in our community and then to look into it reasons why its happening, how bad is it, if its getting worse or better, and lastly, to look up solutions for this issue in the big picture (legal actions maybe) but then to do our own sort of “experiment” where we try and better the community. He used recycling as an example of an experiment to do for pollution and global warming as an issue. However, the topic I chose was the many people in my community (San Jose, California) that are out in the streets without a home especially in downtown. I have given food to the homeless as my experiment but also thought I could teach them about other ways of making money without just begging. Like recycling bottles, picking them off the roads and even from trash cans since California gives up to 10 cents (you can research and find an exact number because it might be up to 15 cents) a bottle if you bring it to a recycle plant and there are a lot of local ones. I can even find a homeless person and do the recycling with them or show them where the plant is, but if you find some small little activity I can do to help the issue in my community that you can include as well in the report, please send a message and let me know what it is and ill let you know if its something I can do within the deadline since I will be doing a presentation on my own for this paper. Now, for the instructions from my instructor: “Your physical research paper will be a “problem-solution” essay, in which you explore the problem you are addressing, the solution you are proposing and then the work youactuallydid(yourphysical“action”)tohelpbringaboutthatsolution. So,afteryou have your community, your proposed solution and what you will actually do to bring about that solution, then you need to do the research. You will research: (1) the community, (2) the problem and (3) possible solutions and (4) how to get involved (your action).” and also says ” my research paper is essentially a long argument essay based on a problem/solution model. Therefore, it will either argue the existence of, or the reason for the problem, and then present a solution (the focus here is on the “problem”).

Or it would simply present the problem and make a detailed and researched argument for the best/most effective solution (the focus here is on the “solution”). Regardless of how I want to organize it, after I present the problem and solution, I would present the “action” that I did to support and affect the solution. ” He wants us to use at least 5 sources, but you can use more for little details needed to prove the solution or talk about the problem. There must be at least one secondary source and one primary source, but 5 total sources minimum. “INTRO: Since this is a longer essay, you have more leeway with your intro. I would present a slightly longer intro that focuses on developing and setting up the issue(s) that you will be addressing in the full essay. Then, towards the end of the intro, remember to make a strong, arguable claim in your thesis. In this type of essay, you will most likely need to present a good amount of background in order to fully set up the issue(s) and to fully look at all sides of the issue(s). Each paragraph should be developing/supporting a claim or idea that connects to your thesis. In this section of your outline, you will need: a. A topic sentence for each body paragraph. Your topic sentence is a guide to your paragraph just like your thesis is a guide to your essay. Your topic sentence should be a claim and should present your main point for the paragraph (remember that you should only have one main idea per paragraph).
