For coastal communities in the U.S., what do you think the solution is to sea level rise?
For your discussion post, address the following questions: Part 1: For coastal communities in the U.S., what do you think the solution is to sea level rise? Should the citizens migrate further inland or stay and come up with ways to cope with the influx of water? Include pros and cons with your solution. For example, Miami is implementing engineering techniques such as raising roads and buildings to deal with flood issues, but this comes at an enormous cost to the taxpayers. Part 2: What about places such as Kiribati and Tuvalu, where they face forced migration due to lost land? Where do they go? What do you think the environmental implications are (such as resource usage)? What do you think the socio-political implications are (i.e., are other countries just going to hand over a plot of land for these nations to colonize)? Part 3: Respond to at least two of your classmates. Do you agree with their solutions? **This is NOT a discussion/debate on man-made climate change. Sea level rise is well documented across the globe. This discussion is about how humans cope with these environmental changes.**
