Using “Interpersonal Communication” textbook from chapters 11 for first entry and chapter 12 for second entry as a reference, answer the two entries below. ENTRY #1 (CHAPTER 11) 1. define what interpersonal conflict means, including conflicts based on content and those based on relationship issues. In a second paragraph, discuss why conflicts often occur between or among people in general; then discuss what you would say have been the most consistent roots of conflict that have fueled recurring conflicts in your life and why. 2. Based on Chapter 11, in a separate paragraph, explain how conflicts may have both positive and negative effects. 3. Finally, in yet another paragraph, discuss what are your most consistent responses to conflicts in your life. Then, in a final paragraph, discuss what conflict management strategies you can try to use in the future to improve your responses to conflicts. ENTRY#12 (CHAPTER 12) 1. In a paragraph, as you consider your own state of interpersonal power, discuss what you consider to be the three most important points from Chapter 12 about interpersonal power to help you improve your influence on others in the future. Also explain why and how these three points may be helpful to you in your future. 2. In yet another paragraph, based on the types of power discussed in Chapter 12 that reside in a relationship, a person, and a message, discuss ways in which you are known to resist such areas of influence in your own life, such as via the use of negotiation, non-negotiation, justification, and/or identity management. Be sure your examples are specific and clear.
