In the light of their earlier critical reflection on their practice, participants should discuss the implications for their developing professional practice in the context of current professional standards and current views of professionalism, based on relevant literature, leading to a programme of professional development presented in the form of an action plan. (5000 words). For this module alone a draft submission will be requested. This takes cognisance of the fact that many participants will be returners to academic study and as such will require additional support. Participants should demonstrate: 1. Ability to reflect critically on professional practice; 2. Commitment to construction and reconstruction of professional practice taking into consideration social and cultural contexts and underpinning philosophies and policies; 3. Ability to discuss and debate ideas, policies, strategies and actions, informed by research in the subject area; 4. Up to date knowledge of the literature in the subject area related to the professional context; 5. Undertaking of a professionally significant inquiry with the findings following research reporting conventions integrated into the assessment paper; 6. Confidence with presentation, structure and all the conventions of academic writing including evidencing and referencing. Participants should demonstrate: 1. Ability to reflect critically on professional practice; 2. Enhanced application of transferable skills by: 1. evaluating their current engagement with practice-based enquiry; 2. drawing upon and analysing a range of relevant literature addressing the nature of professionalism within their own context; Enhanced capacity for critical and informed judgement by: 1. expressing consistent and professional defensible educational values and show how these are translated into practice; 2. demonstrating critical reflection on personal professional practice; Commitment to development and transformation by: 1. relating their agenda for professional development to their analysis of professional development needs. 2. submitting an acceptable and justified action plan that outlines clearly how they will effect change in themselves and in their practice
