One model based on democratic institutions and capitalism (India, Chile, U.S.A.) and a second model based on Authoritarian political control and managed or state directed capitalism as practiced by PRC. Given the similar (up until recently) development inertia of both nations, having a colonial past and dealing with mass poverty and inequality, which developmental model is most appropriate for the developing world?
