This assignment allows you to identify ways to enhance cross sector collaboration in order to meet the needs of children, youth, and families. In this assignment you are asked to develop and present a collaborative plan for two service sectors, at least one must be a host setting, where children, youth, and families are served. The plan should be based on inter-agency collaboration concepts. HOST AGENCY: US Army Child and Youth Services Students will choose the settings that they explore in accordance with the week’s topic and enhance it by explaining the opportunity for cross sector collaboration in order to meet the needs of children, youth, and families. Considerations related to intersectionality, diversity and/or culture of the population served should be clearly discussed in the collaborative plan. For example: • If the week’s topic is Schools, students may develop a collaborative plan between a school setting and a health setting to provide campus based, holistic health screenings for low income families. SETTING: Schools The collaborative plan paper should provide an innovative and feasible strategy for the two settings to successfully collaborate. Your paper should address the following and use the subheadings below: 1) Collaborative Opportunities- Identify two (2) opportunities/benefits for the two settings to engage in cross sector collaboration. The opportunities explained should be specific to the identified organizations. 2) Collaborative Challenges-Identify two (2) challenges of cross sector collaboration between the chosen settings. The challenges explained should be specific to the identified settings.

3) Inter-Agency Collaboration Concepts-Specifically apply at least three (3) inter-agency collaboration concepts (Resource Acquisition, Organizational Legitimacy, Partner Characteristics, Supply side imperfection, and/or Joint decision making to address the challenges of the proposed collaboration plan between the chosen settings. Place inter-agency collaboration concepts in bold-face type. 4) Social Worker Role-Specifically explain the social worker’s role in enhancing cross sector collaboration between the chosen settings. 5) Diversity & Inclusion Considerations- Discuss specific issues related to intersectionality, diversity and/or culture of the population served that should be integrated into the collaborative plan in order to encourage client engagement. Part 1: Collaborative Plan Paper Use subheadings to organize paper. Throughout the paper provide scholarly evidence to support your ideas, referencing a minimum of 5 academic and/or professional works, at least 2 of which must be outside sources that are not on the course syllabus (place outside references in bold-face type on the reference page). Outside references should be from 2010-present. The course text will count as one source, regardless of the number of chapters you cite. Please do not cite lecture notes, asynchronous content or PowerPoint presentations. Instead, rely upon original sources of scholarly information. Do not use direct quotes from source material.
