What are the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches? What are the barriers to new regionalism and old regionalism? Based on this analysis, which approach (or combination of approaches) do you think would be the best model to address region-wide issues? 2. According to Downs (1997), what major factors helped contribute to white flight? What are the impacts of white flight and suburbanization on the socio-spatial and political landscape in the United States?
