Identify the steps involved in planning and conducting a systematic review
This assignment is to locate a systematic review and summarize it in your own words. The purpose of the assignment is to learn to identify the steps involved in planning and conducting a systematic review, to become familiar with the presentation of findings of a systematic review, and to understand the breadth and variety of conclusions that can be drawn from systematic reviews. Ideally, this review will have some relationship with your final project for this course. The steps of the assignment are as follows: Locate a systematic review through The Cochrane Collaboration, The Campbell Collaboration, or another source. Using the attached Literature Review Template, state the purpose of the review, including any specific questions the authors planned to address. Summarize the methods used in this review, including the specification of studies to be included in the review, time frames for the search, databases searched and keywords used, other strategies used to locate studies, and strategies for data analysis and summary. Summarize the results of the study, including any descriptions of the adequacy of the evidence base and results of data analysis and synthesis (may want to make notes of any tables and graphs presented in the text for illustration). Summarize the conclusions of the study, both in terms of implications for policy/practice and for research.
