THEMATIC READING — GENDER AND COMMUNICATION

 Based on Deborah Tannen’s “Can’t We Talk?”, Rebecca Solnit’s “Men Who Explain Things,” and your own observations and experience, write an essay in which you discuss supposed gendered differences in conversational style. Form a point of view or perspective on the topic that you present clearly in your introduction, and use your conclusion to tie together the ideas and observations you have explored in your essay.
