ART AND HISTORY BACKGROUND
Description task: By looking at all of the Greco-Roman art thus far, you can get a sense of the things that they valued as well as how they valued them. Choose a single aspect present in Greco-Roman art that you do not see in Medieval Art and offer some reason why with specific examples. heck out the websites below (keep in mind that there is an abundance of information in these websites, and you do not need to read everything – choose what you think is relevant to the course and what you will need for the posts and essays); listen to the audio lecture and the music files; about the music – it is possible that you will not like the music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, but make every effort to listen critically for material that you will need for posts and essays (the selections in this Module are from Chant: The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos (Angel records 1994) with the track titles “Puer natus est nobis,” “Puer natus in Bethlehem,” and “Hosanna filio David”) ; don’t forget to post in the Discussion (be sure to check the posting due dates), and don’t forget that your first essay is due (again, check the due date).
