Types of Evaluation
Many nursing faculty have found it difficult to change to a concept-based curriculum. Faculty often experience and express anxiety related to curriculum change. Likewise, a lack of faculty motivation to changing curriculum and adjusting to new teaching or learning methods are a disadvantage for teaching and learning (Higgins & Reid, 2016). Gooder and Cantwell (2016) identified student adjustments in the new method of learning as a potential disadvantage. Students reported that time was needed to adjust to the new way of content delivery and learning, for concept-based curricula to be successful. Research the literature and identify typical difficulties and challenges of adjusting to a concept-based curriculum. For this discussion, identify ways in which a concept-based curriculum can be introduced or implemented that might help make the adjustment smoother.
