The gendering of illness

Paper (35%): June 17th For your final assignment in this course is a research paper on a topic of your choosing. You may wish to write about the relationship between gender and any number of themes or topics in this course. For example gender and social institutions, roles, relationships, social problems or issues– and any number of substantive topics such as health/wellness, sports, crime, deviance, body modifications, education, workplaces, families, the law, media, sexual scripts, food/alcohol as gendered, violence, social activism or any number of topics. The topic is flexible –so please be creative! The paper should be between 10-12 double spaced pages. You should draw on a minimum of eight empirical, scholarly, social science sources (these should be outside/in addition to the require readings for the course). Be prepared to submit your paper on the due date as well as present your ideas to the class (see participation)
