Comparative Mythology
This must be from the textbook “An Introduction to Comparative Mythology,” by Jennifer Taylor, second edition. 1. Must be 5 paragraphs. Each paragraph must have at least 6 sentences. 2. Must include a word count at the end of the main document, before Works Cited. 3. Thesis MUST be highlighted in the INTRODUCTORY paragraph and must be the LAST sentence. Build Thesis first, then build around it. 4. Thesis should connect with the chosen topic. 5. Use 3 citations in the body of the essay, using MLA format. 6. Must have a Works Cited page at the end, in alphabetical order. 7. Do NOT summarize the document. 8. Do NOT use first person (I or me), nor second person (you). Essay requirements 1. MLA format, Times New Roman font, 12-pitch, 1-inch margins (see example). 2. 1st paragraph is the introduction and contains the thesis, as the last sentence, which connects with the topic and the 3 main points from the paper. 3. 2nd paragraph begins with a transition and then it’s about the first supporting idea. 4. 3rd paragraph begins with a transition and then it’s about the second supporting idea. 5. 4th paragraph begins with a transition and then it’s about the third supporting idea. 6. 5th paragraph is the conclusion. Begins with a transition and then is a recap of the essay topic and will contain the thesis again (but stated in a different way than in the introduction).
