In this paper we ask you to critically present two points of view on the topic (such as in favour/not in favour). Then take a position on this issue and justify why you took that position. ‘The Minister of Justice has been told that his/her department must cut its training budget by 20%. The Minister has heard that forensic science does not contribute to the criminal justice system and that training forensic scientists is a waste of tax payers’ money.’ Would you agree with the above statement and recommend the Minister cuts the forensic science training budget or not?
