Work health promotion program
The assignment is to do some internet research and select 1 workplace health promotion program that you find. Read about it, reflect based on the information provided in the textbook (Unhealthy Work: Causes, consequences, cures by Peter L. Schnall, Marnie Dobson, Ellen Rosskam (Eds.)) about “Interventions.” The scientific evidence shows that such types of programs are not effective over time unless they are accompanied by programs that change critical organizational aspects of the conditions of work. In combination they can be successful and sustainable. But the companies that “market” these workplace health promotion programs do not cite the evidence showing they are a waste of time and money without structural change. discuss critically the program you found and present to the class your analysis of the program. also discuss an analysis of the program and whether you think it is likely to be successful, and if so, why. If you think it is not likely to be successful, come with some suggestions of what might make it successful. Keep in mind that the structural conditions of work must be addressed before asking working people to change their own behaviors, for health promotion and disease prevention.
