FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT IN HEALTHCARE

 1) Powerpoint 8-10 slides 2) Three (d)- paged paper Scope and Approach To interview an individual currently working in a managerial role within a healthcare setting. This individual can be working for a hospital; physician practice; outpatient surgical center; skilled nursing facility; home care or hospice facility. The interview is to take place within the next few weeks and you will need to be prepared to present the operational aspects of financial management inherent to the individual role. The following questions may help as a guide to begin your interview: • Please explain your title and role within your organization. • Please explain where revenue and expenses are monitored within your organization. • Do you have responsibility for submitting an annual operating budget and monitoring the expenses associated with that budget? Capital budget? • What daily/monthly/annual financial reports do you review as it relates to your area of responsibility? • What is the total dollar value of your annual operating budget? • How do you monitor and manage the daily productivity of your employees/team members? • Etc; etc; etc. The interview is to be documented so that you can prepare a PowerPoint summary to be submitted to the instructor (not to exceed ten (10) slides). Following your presentation, a report will be due summarizing your interview and findings. This report to be at least three typed pages double-spaced.
