Mathematics in Schools – Numeracy Interview: Fractions
Description
Part A. Please find the video link on https://youtu.be/h4wCs7gxuIk The purpose of the video clip is for you to examine what Ella’s errors mean to you as a teacher. Refer to each question Ella attempts. What does she do well? What strategy does she use? What does she get wrong? why? But if you don’t feel that some of the questions add anything to your discussion, then leave them out. Use timestamp referencing (e.g. 3:05). If necessary, use Ella’s quotes + timestamp to reinforce a point you’re making. Don’t link Ella to the CMIT stages. Part B. Don’t use new sources. Through your readings, find a nice idea that you could use to help Ella, then explain how it would be adapted to suit her. References. You can choose your own choice of up to three other relevant readings. Or you can use the ones from ‘suggested references’ on guideline.doc Reminder it is the set reading (Bobis2011.pdf) + up to 3 others. Each point must be supported with in-text citations (APA style). Note. Childs_written_work.pdf is Ella’s working out from the video interview.
