The assignment is meant to engage your critical thinking about the design, function and value of soundmaps as you become more aware listeners and learn how sound functions in culture and society. After studying the required reading links and listening to different sound maps, compare 2-3 examples of soundscapes from different soundmaps by critically addressing the questions below: How does each soundmap represent and sonify place? How are visuals and sounds related in each soundmap example? Who might use sound maps and for what purposes? What advantages might sound maps have over other kinds of maps? Although you are not required to research materials beyond the course texts assigned, you must include proper citations and bibliography for any material you reference. Follow APA style for your references and citations. Your paper should be around 1500 words.
