You will write a two to three (2-3) full page critique of two articles of your choosing. This does not include the title page and work citied page. The article itself must be related to government (national or state).
For these article critique, do not search for the shortest article. Find and article in which you are able to generate arguments that is articulate and respectable.
The article critique will be graded based on the following components:
1. The critique must explain the title of the article, where did you find the article, the date of the article published.
2. You must briefly summarize the article. I am not going to look up every single article and read it. I must be able to understand and grasp the scenario of the article without physically taking time out to read it.
3. The third component is the critique itself. Discuss the meaning of the article. Do you agree with the author’s point of view? Is this relatable in today’s reality? Does the article looks at both sides, ideologically, of the argument? Does the article have a ideological bias? Also, when answering these questions, provide significant evidence to support your answer.
4. The last component is your conclusions!!! This is your own thoughts and conclusions about the article. This should be separate from your critique.
The article critique is due September 9 and October 28 at 11:59pm on Blackboard. The allotted points that is given for this assignment is 160 points.
The presentation piece of this assignment is very easy. You have to present on one of the articles. Ignore the dates given on the syllabus for the article critique. There will be three new dates for the article critique presentation will be discussed in class on next Thursday!! You will have seven minutes to present your article critique, including questions.
