There are no questions for this essay; there is the following brief. It is very important that your essay fulfils the brief. Discuss two films screened on the module in relation to any of the theoretical ideas we have addressed during the module. Note: writing about Kiss and Blowjob counts as one film. Your essay should be informed by and should engage with FOUR (minimum) of the Core Readings from the Module Reader. (You can of course refer to more than four of the Core Readings, and you should also look at the Further Reading). You should analyse your chosen film/s in order to critically explore and evaluate the theoretical ideas put forward in the core readings you have chosen.

The essay is designed so that you can demonstrate your understanding of some of the key theoretical ideas explored during the module via the critical analysis of specific films. You must write about films screened during the module, and you must engage carefully and critically with the core readings we have looked at during the module. You can make up your own title. Your title should refer to the film or films you are discussing and indicate the topic/issue you are exploring (e.g., gender, sexuality, race, ideology, ontology, realism, etc.). A simple title is fine.
