Organization Theory and Design

This is a human resource assignment, use sources from the textbooks or your knowledge as this is not like internet research project. You task is to write an essay discussing how the course material applies to an organization that you know well. Your essay should: ● Explain how Exhibit 9.1 in the textbook applies to your organization. Specifically, you will be looking for how the observable aspects of the culture tie-in to the underlying values, assumptions, beliefs, etc. ● Explain how Exhibit 9.7 in the textbook applies to your organization. In every organization, people make ethical decisions as well as unethical decisions. Describe an ethical dilemma that has arisen, or could arise, in your organization. Using this ethical dilemma as an example, which forces have a large impact on decision-making, and which forces don’t have an impact? ● Explain how other elements of Chapter 9 relate to your organization, if applicable. Also, you may use material from the related readings, if relevant. You may disguise the identity of your organization if you wish, but at least let me know what type of organization it is (for example, restaurant, clothing retailer, hockey team, etc.). No one will read your paper except me, your professor. No student marker is involved. The organization you choose could be an employer, a sports team, a non-profit organization, a student club, or a First Nations organization. If none of these seem appropriate, consider choosing your high school. You’ll discover that some organizations fit this assignment better than other organizations. Choose an organization which you were actually a part of, not an organization that you know about solely through second-hand information. Your finished paper should be seven pages or less, assuming a 12 point font, double spacing, and one inch margins. Write a nicely written essay with correct spelling, grammar, and so on, and these things will affect your mark. Do not use point form Remember that exact wording from the textbook or elsewhere must be in quotes with the page number (if there is a page number), so the reader can distinguish between your wording and wording from someone else.
