Applied Sociology : sociological concept from The Wire movie.

 Paper:In this paper, you will select a movie or television show and discuss how it relates to a sociological concept we will discuss in this course. If you are having trouble selecting a topic, a few good examples of shows you can select from are Shameless, Black Mirror or The Wire. You will complete this paper in several phases: Paper topic/concept & movie/TV show selection (This assignment is just a few sentences) First completed draft of paper with citations Final version (with feedback from the midterm paper incorporated into the paper) This paper should be approximately 3 pages long (for both the midterm and final versions of this paper). Be clear and concise, points will be deducted for papers that are less than the 3-page length requirement. Papers that go more than a half page over the 3-page limit will also have points deducted for not following the instructions; this encourages you to think critically and produce quality work. Midterm papers should be a complete first draft with an introduction, discussion the sociological concept and how it is demonstrated within the film or show, and a conclusion, and it is worth the same amount of points so put the same amount of effort into it. Papers should be well organized and include citations from the textbook and 2-3 additional sources. Your paper should also include a works cited page at the end. Final papers should incorporate the feedback you received to improve your quality of writing. For major issues you might be directed to the campus writing center.
