Getting to Know the Nacirema

 In this module, you had an opportunity to read Horace Miner’s essay, “Body Ritual among the Nacirema”. His essay, while older, exposes us to new cultures and exposes the difficulty found in observing and evaluating cultures and civilizations from afar. Based upon what you read in the learning module, respond to each of the following prompts. While there is no specified length requirement for this post,  Please respond to these prompts in your initial post: 1. Impression? What is one word you would use to describe your reaction to the essay? Explain why you’ve selected this word. 2. What is the central ethos of this culture? In other words, what is the defining characteristic or trait that is embraced by the Nacirema? 3. What did you learn about gender roles? 4. What is the race of the people being described? What clues or evidence lead you to your conclusion?
